(This mun supports Muku x Hiba but is not averse to other relationships if there is potential [10069 and whatnot]. I would rather any relationship was allowed to develop rather than it being forced because it's THERE. Slow is how I like to take these things. Relationships don't just happen after all.

And yes, Byakuran is allowed to make moves on Mukuro if he so wishes. =_= Pervert.)

Mukuro Rokudo was originally part of the Estraneo Family which fell to pieces after their creation of the Possession Bullet, which led to the other Families persecution of the Estraneo for the creation of such a horrifying weapon. Members of the Family were killed upon sight and this spurred the remaining adults to perform experiments on the children in order to create the ultimate human weapons and regain their status in the Mafia world.

Mukuro destroyed the entire Family, save for two boys, Ken Joshima and Chikusa Kakimoto. For saving them, they planned to follow him and willingly do his bidding with the same ideal of laying waste to the world through a bloody world war.

...Alas, it was not to be.

Lancia was recruited unwillingly when Mukuro possessed his body and had him murder his own family. Unfortunately, it was this act which helped the Vindice to locate him. All four, Lancia included, were captured and thrown into prison. Merely three years later, however, Mukuro orchestrated their escape, and they lay low for a time at Kokuyo High. This gave Mukuro the opportunity to spy on the future Vongola Decimo and assess whether he was a suitable vessel to use in his plans.

The Decimo's power was greater than what he had expected, and his defeat ended in him and his followers once more being apprehended. However, they were let out on a good behaviour bond, with the condition that if Mukuro was to ever raise his hand against Vongola Famiglia members with malicious intent, he and the rest of his gang would be incarcerated. Permanently.

With that stipulation, he was allowed to become the Vongola's Guardian of Mist - to graduate from high school and attend Reborn University like any other (Mafia) student. He took a course in psychology, and his end-of-year thesis was deemed extraordinary enough for him to graduate and be granted the status required to become a professor. The professor who had taught the course resigned not long afterwards for unknown reasons and Mukuro took their place for lack of any other suitable candidates.

He dislikes being bound by the terms of the Vindice, but he dares not test the limits of their agreement. The occasional fight with Hibari, or training, is the only time when he is allowed to utilise his full abilities. He bides his time otherwise, plotting, searching for a way to overcome the Vindice's terms, not yet able to accept that his original goal may never be achieved in this life. At times he appears discontent and irritable - the latter making itself known by his sharp tongue and casually cruel remarks. But sometimes he can be found with a slight smile on his face, after Tsuna - the only person who truly treats him without suspicion - has been speaking with him: something he is quick to deny when questioned. The majority of the time, Mukuro hides behind a façade of politeness, with the occasional snide remark thrown in.

For now, he endures his situation. He is secretly glad that he and the others are able to make a life for themselves, but he cannot easily forget the pain and suffering that the Estraneo Family subjected them to, and if there is a chance that he might break free of the hold the Vindice have on him then he will take it.

Little things that you may discover about him - he dislikes it when referred to as a Pineapple Head (in his hearing), and he has a strong aversion to medicine of any kind (because of his childhood trauma)

For the purposes of this roleplay game, should - in the highly unlikely case - anyone venture successfully into his unguarded mind, they will find memories of his past lives filled with roughly as such:

First life: Seemingly normal; married the love of his life (auburn hair, storm-grey eyes and a wonderful smile) but lost her less than ten years later in a shooting at a bank. In revenge, he tracked down the gang and single-handedly slaughtered them, earning himself a life sentence in prison. He went mad and died while trying to escape.

Second life: A combination of harsh parents who misunderstood the nature of his memories and hallucinations and confined him to an institute for the psychologically unstable caused his illusions to go wildly out of control and result in him killing himself to escape the trauma.

Third life: He has a rudimentary grasp of his new skills (creation of illusions and summoning of beasts) and once he does he uses his powers to escape from slave traders, living his life as a thief climbing the ranks of the underground society, surviving to adult age before disease results in a slow, agonising death.

Fourth life: If anything can go wrong, it will go wrong - Murphy's Law deals him the short end of the stick with every choice he makes. He doesn't know happiness any longer as he did with his first love, and he has given up on finding it. He now concentrates on simply living and his cynicism for the world at large is developed here. This time period is rife with crime and he uses the chaos to perfect his own killing technique, eventually drawing the attention of the Mafia who recruit him, only for them to backstab him not a year later.

Fifth life: It takes several more dealings with the Mafia before he begins to understand that there is no such thing as 'honour amongst thieves' as there used to be. What's more, all the women and even men that he has met have one way or another met their end at the hands of those murderers. His stint as an assassin is short-lived, with an untrusting boss putting a bullet in his heart once he senses Mukuro's dissent.

Sixth life: Now boycotting the Mafia, he sets about perfecting and honing his skills, mastering all of the skills available to him (Paths one to five). Never able to remain hidden for long, he is again sought out though he declines to join any of the organised crime syndicates. In his course for perfection, others become paranoid about the danger he poses and he is eventually brought down through a combined effort to kill him.
